The application of extenstions is simply. Individual, pre-bonded wefts of hair are equipped with a tiny polymer at the top. Your natural hair is placed over the polymer, then the two are fused using a pair of heated tongs. Each weft is applied in just 10 to 15 seconds; a complete application takes four to six hours, depending on the amount of hair being added.
"Human hair extensions do not require any special care," O'Connor says. "They can be washed, conditioned and styled as normal, and they can even be coloured and permed. The one thing we advise against is using silicone-based products, because they tend to loosen the bond."
Depending on how fast the hair grows, your extensions can last up to five months. They are easily removed using a gentle solution which disintegrates the bond.
