Nail problems & solution

Problem: Dry cuticles and hangnails

Solution Use a cuticle-moisturizing cream daily to moisturize and condition.

Problem: Soft nails

Solution: Leave old polish on while filing, for less chance of damage.

Problem: Brittle, splitting nails

Solution: Wear cotton-lined rubber gloves for all household chores.

Problem: Yellow nail tips

Solution: Hydrogen peroxide on a cotton swab or cotton-wrapped orangewood stick will bleach underside of nail tip.

Problem: Wide nail bed

Solution: Apply nail enamel, leaving an ultra-thin strip (about 1/16") uncovered on either side to give the impression of slimmer nails.

Problem: Stained nails

Solution: Use nail buffer to help remove stains. Gently buff nails in one direction only, from cuticle to tip. Fresh lemon rubbed across clear nails will also gradually fade stain. Always apply base coat before polish to prevent staining.

Problem: Nail polish bubbles

Solution : After shaking bottle, wait for air bubbles to disperse before applying color. Before applying base coat, be sure nail surface has been thoroughly cleaned of old polish, creams and oils, and is dry. Allow sufficient drying time between coats.

Problem: Polish smudges

Solution: Dab a small amount of nail enamel remover with index finger of opposite hand and smooth polish (use very light touch). Let dry and apply coat of polish.

Problem: No time to does entire manicure

Solution : Try doing a few steps at a time. At night, follow manicure steps through application of first coat of nail enamel. Next morning, apply second coat of enamel. Later in the day, apply top coat. This allows lots of drying time between coats.
