Photorejuvenation to find a nice skin

We talk more and more of that famous dermatological treatment flashlamp or pulsed light can dramatically improve the appearance of the skin and treat a wide range of problems, whether related to age, to the bloodstream or naturally susceptible to land.

It lends great results while the public turns willingly to this minimally invasive and fast, capable of convincing results.

So what exactly photorejuvenation, in which cases can be used and what side effects are observed, we reported on this promising new technique.

The principle of Photorejuvenation

The principle of photorejuvenation is rather simple to understand, this is a stimulation of the skin by an energy delivered by a lamp, called flash lamp, diffusing light and intense pulsed. This light of variable wavelength target brown and red pigmentation, ie skin lesions such as small scars, spider veins, pigment spots, erythrosine, etc .... These lesions thus absorb light and are destroyed after one or more sessions of exposure.

But the action of photorejuvenation does not stop there, since the scattered energy in a targeted manner also allows for action on the dermis by stimulating the cells. This stimulation results in an increased production of collagen and elastin, two substances that play a major role on the elasticity and youthful skin.

In which case the technique is effective?

- Photorejuvenation has been proven on all tasks due to pigmented skin aging and sun exposure. It can be used either on the face and on the neck, hands or shoulders. He also serves on the redness of the face type erythrosine resulting from rosacea, telangiectasia often due to rosacea, ...
- The technique can also significantly improve the appearance of a scar (a good result on the marks left by acne) and reduce stretch marks.

- Note also that the pulsed light helps as appropriate to improve the appearance of acne-prone skin and reduce (and unfortunately not completely erase) the visibility of tattoos. In the latter case, however, photorejuvenation present better results in blue and black inks, while colored tattoos are rather refractory to the art.

- Finally, the pulsed light is also used to improve the general appearance of skin texture, tone face, neck and décolleté and reduce fine lines due to age.

In practice, what happens?

It should be noted first that the technique of photorejuvenation should be performed by an experienced dermatologist, there is a medical procedure that should not be taken lightly. The duration of the session varies depending on the extent of the treatment area, the skin is cleansed, the eyes are protected by goggles provided by the doctor and then a gel is applied to the treatment area to reduce the sensation of heat on the skin.

The specialist then applies the laser to the areas defined, the feeling, without being really painful is slightly uncomfortable, you feel a tingling sensation with each pulse followed by a burning sensation.Several sessions are usually required either to reduce redness or skin tone. Each session should be spaced at least a month, for information, 2-3 sessions are usually needed to remove stains and pigmented rash while we recommend 4-6 sessions for a "cure" rejuvenation.

Side effects?

A slight redness may appear on the treated areas and persist for a few hours after surgery. Note that the pigmented stains do not disappear immediately processed, they stand even for a few days to subside gradually. Finally, a few crusts may appear but disappear on their own after a few days.
Note that the photorejuvenation should not be performed on tanned skin or black.

Finally, the skin must be absolutely protected from UV after treatment with high sunscreen. Applying Biafine may also be prescribed for a few days to soothe the skin and promote healing.
