The look that's in ---and out
Say good-bye to the hard-edged black eyeliner that surfaced with the 50's and mod revivals. The look now is softer, more romantic: smudged is in, a severe line is out.
The how-to
Apply pencil liner to the outer third of your upper lid, then smudge the line with your finger just enough to blur the edge. "Push" it a smidge onto the lid (but not so far that it looks like shadow) and, if you like, a bit towards the outside of the eye.
Best to use: soft shades like gray or brown, as opposed to black. Try Perfect Wear Eye Liner in Hickory or Mahogany for the right effect.
