Boost & Bodify Limp Locks

New salon chemical volumizing services build body, not curl.

"The number one complaint I hear from clients is that they want more volume, especially at the roots and through the crown," says Rocco Picheca, owner of Toronto's Salon Rococo on the 1999 Permanent Wave Hair stylist of the Year.

"Texturizing hair with invisible layers throughout the interior and using proper products can help, but sometimes it's not enough."
Welcome a new breed of in the salon volumizing treatments.

According to Ray Plunkett, technical director at Toronto based Schwarzkopf Professional, the company's new Volume Plus system differs from a perm because it adds bend, it’s not curl.

"The processing times is shorter than a perm, plus the hair can be blown out to a smooth finish, without frizz ness and still have incredible volume. Results can last up to eight weeks."

Rusk has also ventured into the volume arena with anim-8.com/Version 2.0. Designed to build volume, motion and shape, anim-8.com is ammonia and thio-free. A secret bio-marine complex enhances the hair shaft's texture from the inside out.

"This is an incredible service because it provides change without damaging the hair," reports Tat Janna Czypionka, a regional technical director for Rusk, Inc. "The system allows stylists to create the ideal canvas for each of their clients; it's modern technology for modern hair."
